Here I'm again reporting about another weekly speaking session of Ivana&Dina.

Today, our hour or so of speaking has covered topics ranging all the way from family, love life, the life in general to the fact that we covet a husband who would also actively participate in the everyday pandemonium of a family with children.

Anyway, during our talk we tried to avoid, as much as we could, the usage of the phrase "Yes, but..." (it really does sound trite) and used instead phrases like "You have a good point, but..." or "You could say that, but..." (for more phrases take a look at the link I've featured in my last post under useful websites).

What's more, we realised that, when it comes to answering everyday life questions, we are blissfully unaware of the name of most terms in English. Here are some of them we just didn't have a clue about before checking up in a dictionary:

1. The word "Freundeskreis" really is translated into English as circle of friends. We suspected it may be so, but we weren't sure, though.

2. "Assistentin" is translated into English simply as assistant.

3. "Pinnwand" is translated into English as pinboard.

4. There is an adverb that means irreparably, like in- The ship has been irreparably damaged.

All the above mentioned, just goes to show how essential it is to converse in English as often as one can.
