a cliffhanger I'm just reading is...

I'm currently half way through the book "Deadly Deception" by Betsy Haynes.

It is a suspensful murder mystery. The main character is Ashlyn Brennan, a seventeen year old senior, who comes from a filthy rich family, but feels neglected from her mother. Her life is a normal one until obscure things start to happen. The major event that throws her life out of track is the killing of her school counsellor and close friend of hers'- Mrs. Rothlis. On top of all that, the prime suspect for the murder is her boyfriend Drew, who is trying to fight against a drug problem. In the part of the book I'm now reading, Ashlyn finds, on her quest to free her boyfriend of guilt, her dead certificate in Mrs. Rothlis apartment.

Anyway, I must say that if you are looking for a light-read book that has strange twists and where the characters are people you can relate to, this is the book for you. You can buy it via Amazon or ask Ivana to lend it to you. (she did lend it to me, so there should be no problem:))

Vocab- the vocab is mostly easy to understand, but here are two very interesting pieces worth remembering:
be on the same wavelenght- to think in a similar way and to understand each other well- I can't seem to get on with him-we're just not on the same wavelenght.
hobnob-informal; disapproving-to spend time being friendly with someone who is famous or important-She often has her picture in the papers, hobnobbing with the rich and famous.
