Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.

writing
This week (although it pains me to admit it as I am a hooked on writing) I was not enough active in this field of my studies. There is one thing, though, that caused me some sleepless nights:)- our homework for Rebecca. It is a hell of a lot of work to do if you only want to approximately rewrite what they want to say in plain, simple English. I tried and when the correction comes, I'll whinge to you.
I guess a quote I've recently read puts all the above mentioned in a nutshell-If writing seems hard, it's because it is hard. It's one of the hardest things people do. (William Zinsser)
I'm a garrulous girl who adores hanging out with friends as often as possible. I come from a picture-postcard little town on the Croatian coast. So, as you can imagine, I immensely miss the crystal clear sea while I'm in Graz. Apart from the sea, I enjoy being in Graz during the semester. It is such a life-affirming place to live.
What I most like about our university is the multiculturalism. Our university is a true melting pot:).
I chose to move to Graz because:a)you can't study translation in Croatia and b)I wanted, kind of, to flee from home as I'm an only child and my mum spoils me rotten.I guess, I just had the need to experience the wide world.
Come to think of it, I'm actually an expat here in Graz.Of course everything I went through till now was positive:)
Back to university-I have always nurtured the thought of becoming an interpreter. Let's see what the future will bring.
Anyway, hope you'll find something useful on my blog(please keep in mind that I'm not a techie:)) and that you realise, as the name of my blog says, that English is not all doom and gloom.
