The new buzzword for your feet is spelled crocs.

The company behind this shoes is based in Boulder, Colorado and it was founded in 2002.

Although this lightweight plastic shoes were at the outset advertised as boating and outdoor shoes, they have soon become a must-have item for all the fashionistas around the globe because of their comfort, lightness and eccentric design.

The astronomically high revenue crocs have brought to its founders so far goes to show that these shoes are a trend which will die a death in the forseeable future.

According to Nike, the sportswear retailer, this shoe is a must-have for any fitness buff out there.

It is the Nike+iPod Sport Kit which allows you to put a special sensor in the sole of your Nike+ running shoe. This sensor then gets through to your iPod to tell you how far you've run, what your speed is and how many calories you've burnt. Naturally, you can run to music and there is also an online account where you can view your progress and set future goals.

So, if you are a fitness enthusiast and have some money to spare (Nike+ running shoe from 65 pounds; Nike+iPod Sport Kit sensor-20 pounds; iPod Nano from 99 pounds), climb on the bandwagon and join the Nike+ community.

Fitness

In its May issue Marie Claire looks at ways to get and stay fit without going to the gym.

If going to the gym, where each piece of equipment reminds you of a monster and where you feel like an oddball between all that sweaty, perfectly fit bodies, makes your hair stand on end, here is advice on how to stay in form, gym-free:

1. Try to increase the intensity of your everyday activities which can range from vacuuming to walking your dog. Especially if you are going to walk your dog, take your MP3-player with you so as to remain motivated.

2. Instead of taking the lift, settle for the stairs as they are a great strengthener and calorie-burner.

3. You can even burn calories when you stand. The only thing you have to do is to imagine you're attempting to hold a pencil between your shoulder blades, while carrying a book flat on your head and you'll have your posture improved at once.

4. Use your shopping bags, loaded with all sorts of groceries just imaginable, to intensify your muscle mass.

5. Everyone who sits often in front of his/her computer or notebook should get up off the chair every hour and do some light gymnastics.

6. Finally, while you are waiting for the kettle to boil etc, get up, stretch or do any chores you have to do.

All this small thing listed here do make a difference if performed regularly.

Health:

Apparently, scientists have finally been able to find the holy grail of successful weight loss. It is the humble yet low-calorie bowl of soup.

Scientists at the University of Nottingham have proved this inference to be true in a contemporary experiment with two groups of volunteers. While one group was given grilled chicken with vegetables and a bottle of water, the other received a bowl of soup and a bottle of water.

The result:
The group who ate the soup was full for longer and scans of their stomach proved this was physiologically true.

So eat a bowl of soup before yur next main course as eating soup can seemingly reduce the calories of what you eat afterwards. You'd be a fool not to try.

A new place to work

Hot-desking has retired. The new generation of about thirty million Americans is now working in a "third place".

This "Kinko's Generation" (named after a Californian photocopying store) works in places ranging from cafes to beaches, which have wireless access.

Remember, if you are a corporate or freelance employee who works in a cafe, to order often and tip generously. Only then will your work come off.

This week it's high time to present you with a fashion trend, which shouldn't be missing from your wardrobe, for spring/summer 2007: (search for it at your favourite high-street shops)

cropped jackets

are all the fashion at the moment as they are not only versatile, but their shortened shape also makes your legs look longer.
In brief, they are every women's dream come true.
