hot books
This week the book I recommend reading is an outstanding one by a very brave author namely "Lucky" by Alice Sebold.
In this memoir Sebold chronicles her own ghastly rape. She writes down all her feelings during and in the aftermath of the monstrous event without falling to pieces because Sebold wishes to encourage women who have also been raped to fight their demons and denounce their molester.
As we follow her along her most painful journey from rape to court (in court she is referred to as "the best rape witness ever seen on the stand"), we want to applaud her on the way she comes to terms with every women's nightmare.
Overall, this book is a gripping memoir, raw and real storytelling at its best which often forces you to have a good cry yet is inspiring in a most unusual fashion.
If you are still undecided if "Lucky" is worth a try, read this interview with Alice Sebold where she describes the bittersweet life of a novelist:
